Collection of data
While you access our web pages, we automatically collect data of a general nature. This data (server log files) includes, for example, the type of browser you are using, your operating system, the domain name of your internet service provider and other similar general data. This data is completely detached from specific individual users. It is used to display the web pages correctly and is retrieved each time you use the internet. The completely anonymous data is statistically evaluated to improve the service we provide to you.
Fee-based services
If you use fee-based services, additional data may be required, including information about the nature of the payment.
Use of the latest technology and encryption procedures ensures that your data is comprehensively protected.
Comments on blog posts
If you post comments on our blog, not only is the text itself saved, but also the time of its creation and your username. This way, we guarantee the safety of our blog; illegal and unlawful posts from users can be traced and monitored.
Newsletter
If you sign up for our newsletter, we use your registration data exclusively for the newsletter service. Registered users can be contacted by us in order to be notified of changes, updates or other relevant information.
A valid email address must be provided during registration. The so-called “double-opt-in” procedure checks whether the person registering and the email match.
You have the right to have your data for the newsletter service deleted at any time. You will find a link to unsubscribe in our newsletters. You can also unsubscribe on our website or contact us via our contact page.
Contact form
If you contact us over our contact page or send us an email, the relevant data will be saved for processing.
Deletion or blocking of data
Your personal information will only be stored as required by law, and for as long as is absolutely necessary to provide the services specified. Once these periods have expired, users’ personal data will be routinely blocked or deleted.
Google Analytics
Our website uses Google Analytics, the web analysis service from Google Inc. („Google“). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, small text files that are stored on your computer and which store data about the use of our website. The data generated by such cookies about the use of our website is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Since IP anonymisation is activated on our websites, your IP address will be truncated by Google. This applies to Member States of the European Union and other states parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. In rare cases, the full IP address may be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and only be truncated there. Google uses this information to evaluate your use of our website, to compile reports for us on the use of the website, and to collect further statistical data. Your IP address will never be merged with other data stored by Google. You can prohibit the use of cookies in your browser settings; however, this may affect the functionality of our website. By means of a special add-on program for your browser, you can disable the collection of data by Google Analytics.
Google Remarketing
Our website uses the Google Remarketing feature, which shows personalised advertising to visitors to websites that belong to the Google advertising network. Your browser will store a “cookie”, which will allow you to be recognised when you visit a web page that belongs to the Google advertising network. You may be presented with advertisements related to your visits to other websites that also use the Google Remarketing feature.
Google does not store any individual data during this process. You can opt out of the Google Remarketing feature at https://www.google.com/settings/ads. The use of cookies for personalised advertising can also be turned off. The following link explains how to do this: https://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp.
Adobe Analytics (Omniture)
Our website uses Adobe Analytics, an analysis tool from Adobe Systems Software Ireland Limited (“Adobe”). Adobe Analytics uses “cookies”, small text files that are stored on your computer. These allow us to analyse your use of our website. Before a corresponding data record is transmitted to the Adobe data centre, we anonymise the IP address. To do this, the last octet of the IP address will be replaced by zeros. Before the tracking packet is saved, the IP address is replaced by individual generic IP addresses. Adobe uses this information on our behalf to evaluate how you, as a visitor, use our website. Reports are created that reflect website activity and serve to improve our offering and our service. The transmitted IP addresses that are collected by Adobe Analytics are not compared with other data. You can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser settings accordingly. In some cases, however, this will mean that not all features of our website will be available anymore. General data transfers to Adobe can be prevented by using an add-on. You can find that add-on here: https://www.adobe.com/de/privacy/opt-out.html
Social Plugins
On our websites, we use social plugins from the providers listed below. Plugins are marked with the corresponding logo.
In some situations, the service provider may be able to obtain information and personal data of our visitors through such plugins. A 2-click solution installed by us prevents the non-obvious collection and transmission of data to the service provider. The collection of information and its dispatch to the service provider will only be triggered if you enable a social plugin by clicking.
The data captured by such a plugin once it has been enabled, and how this data is subsequently used, is beyond our control. In some cases, direct connections are created to the services of the respective provider, and the IP address and specific usage information can be recorded and used. Service providers may also try to save cookies on their machines. You can find out how these cookies work in the privacy policy of the relevant provider. You can be identified as a visitor by Facebook if you are currently logged in to your Facebook account.
Social media buttons of the following companies are integrated on our website:
Google Plus/Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway – Mountain View – CA 94043 – USA)

Google AdWords
Our website uses Google Conversion Tracking. When you reach our website by clicking on a Google ad, Google Adwords stores a conversion tracking cookie on your computer. After 30 days, these cookies lose their validity, and website visitors are not identified in this process. Within this 30-day period, it is possible for us and Google to determine that the user initially clicked on the ad in order to end up on our site. Google AdWords cookies are customised and cannot be tracked via the websites of AdWords customers. The information gathered with conversion cookies is used to generate conversion statistics for AdWords customers who use conversion tracking. In this process, customers learn how many users have used an ad to visit their site. No personal data of users is transmitted during this process.
Those who do not want to participate in this tracking can stipulate this in their browser settings. You can universally disable the automatic setting of cookies or you can set your browser so that googleleadservices.com cookies are always blocked.
Opt-out cookies may not be deleted if you wish to disallow the recording of measurement data. If you delete the cookies in your browser, all opt-out cookies must be reset.

You may request access to information about data of yours that is stored by us at any time. This data may also be rectified, blocked (have its processing restricted) or, if the prescribed periods for the storage of data for the transaction have expired, erased. Our data protection officer will assist you if you have any questions in this regard. You will find his contact details below.
Blocked data is kept in a special locked file for control purposes. You can also request that the data be deleted once there is no longer any legal obligation to archive this data. During the period when we are obliged to archive your data, we can block it at your request.
